Geological mapping is a basic tool for those who want to know if their land or research area has some type of ore.
Geological mapping allows to identify the lithological associations, the presence (or not) of deformations, the occurring structures, among other information. All this information together can be used to identify ore deposits in the area of interest, the potential of this area and viability.
The mapping activity doesn’t consist only of field activities, and can be summarized in the following steps:
Analysis of aerial photographs, satellite images and/or aerial geophysical data
Field planning: Preparation of a pre-field map, defining the area to be studied and the details needed in the project.
Organization of all collected data (lithology, structures, petrographic description, etc.)
Preparation of a final geological map and technical report.
